What is Artivistas, Le Lab?

A space for creation & innovation.

Le Lab is a digital-art laboratory launched in 2025 — a space dedicated to creation, experimentation, training and critical reflection around immersive arts, virtual reality and emerging technologies.

Designed as an open, collaborative hub, it brings together artists, researchers, students, technologists and cultural workers from Latin America, Europe and beyond. Its mission is simple: support digital creation and nurture new artistic voices in immersive media.

A celebration of Latin American talent

Le Lab highlights the innovation, diversity and energy of Latin American digital artists. It creates a meeting point where Latin American and European creators can exchange and collaborate.

Programs & activities

In 2025, CANVAR and Artivistas launched an ambitious program of international digital-artist residencies and professional training, with workshops spanning immersive storytelling, digital creation, virtual and augmented reality, and creative coding.

Déjeme Aquí

An immersive VR experience exploring personal consciousness, collective memory and Bogotá’s urban history before the 2012 transformation of its transport system.

Participants board a virtual bus inspired by the city’s iconic independent buses — once vibrant cultural capsules, now disappeared — and navigate a multilingual narrative woven from original stories.

Supported through the collaboration between Le Lab – Artivistas and CANVAR.

GAN — Generative Adversarial Nuisance

A critical and playful exploration of how AI reshapes identity, representation and our relationship with digital images. Through misuse and disruption of GAN-based systems, the work asks who controls visual culture in the age of machine learning.

Blending performance, digital fabrication and synthetic media, the evolving laboratory opens reflection on authorship, gender fluidity, technological opacity and the politics of visibility.
